For the ANNE BOWEN SPRING 2012 BRIDAL COLLECTION runway show at the Gansevoort Park Avenue, ANNE BOWEN collaborated with an incredibly talented make-up team compromised of Cat Serra-Garcia, Liz Aguilar, Christine Ovalle, and Janet Ovalle. The challenge was to create distinct looks for each model based on the designer’s inspiration of “Iconic New York”. Hence, the collection was divided into four distinct New York areas: Park Avenue, Woodstock, Tribeca, and Sutton Place. In the end, the make-up team created a brilliant array of runway looks from a more aggressive, edgier look for the Tribeca group using platinum pigment on the face to reflect the brilliance of the gowns paired with a deeper, stained lip to the more angelic Woodstock group where the emphasis was on natural glowing skin and a soft subtle peachy-pink glossy lip. What they achieved was truly a tour de force on the runway.

Straight off the runway, ANNE BOWEN will be bringing dresses from her critically acclaimed “Oneness” presentation, a ready to wear collection taking its inspiration from Abstract Expressionists like Jackson Pollack, Mark Rothko, and others. This event also kicks off a special trunk show event showcasing the ANNE BOWEN BRIDAL COLLECTION. Brides will have the opportunity to view the collection which features light, sheer fabrics that are weightless, timeless, effortless, and intrinsically beautiful. Rich layers of tulle, silk organza and silk satin chiffons speak to the celestial feeling of the collection entitled “Of The Gods.”

The worlds of high fashion and fine stationery recently came together at the St. Giles Hotel, as ANNE BOWEN and Crane & Co. hosted a magical evening for the wedding industry.

The event marked the debut of Crane’s new wedding invitation collection as well as a partnership between these two major brands.

For this special evening, the Icon Restaurant at the St. Giles was decorated with dozens of fresh new wedding invitation designs from Crane, the maker of fine 100% cotton stationery since 1801. Showcased were new paper colors, typestyles, ink colors and other embellishments on invitation suites printed with engraving, letterpress, thermography, blind-embossing, lithography and digital. Simultaneously, David Michael Schmidt and the amazing team from Renaissance Floral Design created stunning floral displays to complement the gorgeous invitations. The end result was breathtaking.

In addition, guests were also able to view a selection of gowns from the latest ANNE BOWEN BRIDAL COLLECTION entitled “Of The Gods”.

As part of the evening, Anne Bowen and Anil Jagtiani, President, Consumer Division, Crane & CO., made remarks about the evening, the legacy of Crane, the synergies between the brands, and this newly formed business relationship.

“Ours is a relationship business,” said Megan Kuntze,” Crane’s brand director. “Every piece of paper that leaves our headquarters serves to create or enhance personal relationships, whether it’s a birth announcement, business card, anniversary, love letter or wedding invitation. Our craftsmen put their own personal touches on our stationery as well with hand-engraving, hand beveling, hand-gilding, hand-bordering, counting and inspecting. These are crafts handed down from father to son and mother to daughter for eight generations. This collection of invitations welcomes our customers to the next generation.”

The next event on ANNE BOWEN / CRANE & CO. calendar will take place during New York Bridal Week as part of the ANNE BOWEN BRIDAL COLLECTION runway show in April. As part of the event, Crane will create a special lounge at the event to once again unite the worlds of high fashion and fine stationery.
