We are pleased to announce that the ANNE BOWEN BRIDAL COLLECTION Fall 2012 will be presented at the highly anticipated San Francisco Wedding Fair…A Five Star Afternoon as part of a runway show organized by our favorite Bay area bridal salon JIN WANG. JIN WANG will present the fashion forward designs that have made the salon a destination for brides world-wide.

BEHIND THE SCENES: ANNE BOWEN WEDDINGS JAMAICA SHOOT

This October designer Anne Bowen assembled a crew of photographers, cameramen, make-up artists, models, and assistants for a week long shoot in Jamaica at the historic Rose Hall and its majestic surroundings. This week long shoot took place under the generous auspices of Rose Hall Developments and its owners, the Rollins family. The shoot involved far more than anyone could have imagined including a helicopter, Learjet, yacht, and underwater filming. Like any creative project, this shoot was not without its difficult moments. Complaints about early 5am call times and excessive heat were common place. Models who previously confessed fears of height and water were asked to scale ancient aqueduct ruins and dive bottomless depths in pursuit of the perfect shot. However, what unfolded was not only beautiful but awe-inspiring.

Children’s Action Network Holiday Party hosted by Shawn and Larry King

Anne Bowen was invited to attend a special holiday party hosted at the Beverly Hills home of Shawn and Larry King. The party benefited the Children’s Action Network, an organization dedicated to finding homes for the more than 114,000 children in the United States who are waiting for an adoptive family and improving outcomes for the more than 500,000 children in foster care. Filmmaker David Christopher Lee of Destination Luxury captured this very special evening on film.

THE DEBATE IS OVER: THE RECEPTION DRESS IS HERE TO STAY!

When it was initially proposed, there was a great debate about wearing a second dress for the wedding reception. Some strongly opposed the idea and dismissed it as completely and utterly absurd, a passing fad at best. Today it looks like the votes are in, and the reception dress is here to stay and gaining in popularity. Brides have fallen in love with wearing a dress they can dance in and party all night without being restricted by a cumbersome ballgown or body-hugging mermaid silhouette. Being able to dance and move about freely at the reception is an intoxicating idea for any bride.

Designer Anne Bowen has long been a proponent of the reception dress. Not only has she made reception dresses a staple in each and every collection, she has ensured that brides will feel equally if not more glamorous in their second dress.

We are please to share with you a beautiful wedding reception photographed by the incredibly talented Jeff Tishman. (These images have appeared in prominent online publications like Grace Ormonde and Style Me Pretty.) These images capture the sheer jubilation of the bride at her reception. This bride really knows how to get down and enjoy herself. The bride, of course, wore a reception dress by ANNE BOWEN (Botanical Gardens).

ANNE BOWEN TIPS FOR THE BRIDE: SEARCHING FOR THE DRESS

No matter what the holiday season is the time when most brides find themselves engaged. It starts with Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, and, for the procrastinator, Valentine’s Day. This year, design ANNE BOWEN wanted to share her thoughts and expertise with brides. Throughout the year, the designer will be providing tips on a variety of bridal topics from selecting the perfect dress, wedding inspirations, etiquette, and more.

Soon after getting engaged, brides undertake the task of finding the perfect dress. Shopping for the dress should be a wonderful experience but often ends up being the ultimate nightmare. To fully enjoy the process, Anne believes that brides should follow a few simple rules.

  1. Make sure to eat something before you start on your journey
  2. Don’t take your whole entourage.
  3. At first be open until you see what silhouettes look really good on you.
  4. Be patient with yourself and and those you love.
