Cartier nailed it!
(pardon the pun, it was just too easy!)
As you all may know, I love my hardware. I found the quintessential Item of Desire, the “Just a Nail” ring from the rebellious natured Juste UN Clou Collection. As a designer, I was immediately fascinated by Cartier’s genius recreation of a simple tool box nail! My absolute favorite version is the white gold with diamonds. The bent hardware ranges from $2,200-$36,000 and is definitely a must-have on my list.
For Fall 2012, designer ANNE BOWEN set the trend by showing opulent gold gowns on the runway. It only seems natural that a designer known for her exquisite beading would take inspiration from the iconic jewelry house Cartier. The “Trinity” gown with its rich coloration of white, yellow, and rose gold pays homage the great house and more specifically the Trinity ring by Cartier, a favorite among celebrities like Cameron Diaz and Nicole Kidman. The gown itself is very reminiscent of the Art Deco period in which the ring was created. Based on the reaction of brides worldwide, the “Trinity” gown is certain to earn a spot in the pantheon of great wedding dresses.
This season ANNE BOWEN created a special gown “John F. Kennedy Rosa” with a stunning ombre effect. Truly, this gown is a work of art. This watercolor illustrates how the designer was able to work out the exact color scheme for the gown. The process of selecting and placing each strip of organza to create the exact color sequence was extremely painstaking. The rich layers of organza create an overall layered effect that is extremely flattering. The silhouette is unmistakably feminine, and the ombre effect gives the gown a definite “wow” factor. JFK Rosa is just of one of the original works that can be found in the latest bridal collection “The Language of Love”.
