DC LEGEND SAKS JANDEL SELECTS ANNE BOWEN AS ONE OF ITS EXCLUSIVE DESIGNERS

We are delighted to announce that ANNE BOWEN will be bringing her red carpet designs to Washington DC. Saks Jandel, one of Washington’s most prominent and prestigious department stores featuring the only Vera Wang bridal boutique in the Washington, DC area, recently announced that it is expanding its offerings to include a select group of designers including ANNE BOWEN.

“We chose each collection very carefully. Brides today are savvy-they know all the designers. They follow celebrities on the red carpet and they take cues from that. We wanted to be sure we were offering not only the best quality and design, but also a wide array of silhouettes for every type of bride. Our selection is so exciting and really sets us apart from all other bridal salons,” explained salon manager Jennifer Johnston.

For FALL 2011, the ANNE BOWEN “OF THE GODS” BRIDAL COLLECTION takes its inspiration from Welsh mythology, and as such each gown is inspired by and named after a corresponding Welsh Goddess. Being of Welsh descent, ANNE BOWEN selected the title “OF THE GODS” to represent the ethereal quality of the gowns. The collection features light, sheer fabrics that are weightless, timeless, effortless, and intrinsically beautiful. Layers upon layers of tulle, silk organza, and silk satin chiffon speak to the celestial feeling ANNE BOWEN has created. ANNE BOWEN now available at Saks Jandel.

FALLING IN LOVE WITH LOVE VEILS AND ACCESSORIES

This season we had the pleasure of working with the incredibly talented duo Cori and Hannah from Love Veils & Accessories, sharing both a showroom and the runway. This fabulous collection made its debut during the runway presentation of the ANNE BOWEN “OF THE GODS” COLLECTION. Love provided the finishing touch for our finale look. Check out the finale look…

Love Veils & Accessories offers brides two different ways to “style it up” for their wedding!

The first option, the Custom love Design, allows brides to create their own custom veil that best suits their dress and personal style. Everything from the shape, to the color and length, to the trim and all the extras! They offer plenty of education on their website and also love making suggestions based on the fabric, silhouette, and dress designer!

The second option, the 2011 love Collection, consists of stylish handmade veils and headpieces featuring a fresh variety of design materials and techniques. The 2011 collection is named after cities in the United States, and these pieces are aisle ready!

Miracle Workers: Always a Bridesmaid

The Miracle Workers

We at ANNE BOWEN truly believe in miracles. This market, miracles came in the form of wedding planners extraordinaire Xochitl Gonzales and Mayra Castillo from Always a Bridesmaid. The amazing team at Always a Bridesmaid served as artistic collaborators behind our highly acclaimed “OF THE GODS” runway show and “The Bridal Lounge” cocktail party at the St. Gilles Hotel. Unlike more traditional wedding planners, Always a Bridesmaid is fully committed to designing a truly unique experience for each couple, creating meaningful choices every step of the way. We are deeply indebted to Always a Bridesmaid for helping us to create some truly memorable moments during New York bridal market.

The "Bridal Lounge" at the St. Giles Hotel

Long before the Kardashians made it their New York home and the cast of 30 Rock partied their way on to Page Six, the St. Giles Hotel was the site for the “Bridal Lounge” hosted by Always a Bridesmaids and ANNE BOWEN. On October 19th, the bridal mafia converged at the newly renovated ICON restaurant in the St. Giles to celebrate the end of New York Bridal Week. General Manager David Lopez and his gracious staff truly outdid themselves offering guests special cocktails and a fabulous menu of delicious food. (Personal favorites included the Kobe beef sliders and Beef Wellington spring rolls.) The rich acoustic sounds of Generations provided the perfect background for the movers and shakers in the bridal industry to fully enjoy their luxurious surroundings.

Conveniently located in Midtown, the St. Giles Hotel has quickly become the venue of choice for engagement parties, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, honeymoons, and more.

EVENTI HOTEL: HOME "OF THE GODS"

With its soaring, cathedral like ceilings, monumental pillars, and floor to ceiling windows, the EVENTI HOTEL provided the perfect setting to witness the Fall 2011 ANNE BOWEN “Of The Gods” runway presentation. Upon entering the third floor, guests were greeted with a complimentary glass of prosecco by the hotel’s gracious and attentive waitstaff. Located in Chelsea, the EVENTI hotel is the latest addition from the highly acclaimed Kimpton hotel brand. We had the pleasure of working with the effervescent Nadine Reibeling, catering sales manager, who was invaluable in making the “Of The Gods” the highlight of New York Bridal Week.

GODDESS MAKEUP

To create the look for her “Of The Gods”runway show, ANNE BOWEN collaborated with the amazing team at Warren-Tricomi. For this show, ANNE BOWEN wanted a dramatic yet polished look. The hair for the show was styled by uber-stylist Pitch who created a glamorous, yet unfettered look bringing more focus to the eyes and skin. Likewise, makeup artist Tanya De Jesus created rich, dark dramatic eyes using charred brown mixed with Tyrian Purple and lush lashes to create a seductive and dramatic look. As you can see Warren-Tricomi did an exceptional job…transforming mere models into GODDESSES!!!

FLOWERS FROM THE HEAVENS

This market, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Melanie Arden and the amazing staff at Melarosa. Decorating the large space at the Eventi Hotel with bouquets of Gardenias and white garden roses transformed the space into a room fit for a goddess. The ANNE BOWEN sign was covered at the top with lush white garden roses while select models held the bouquets of Gardenias and added the finishing touch to the divine gowns in the ANNE BOWEN BRIDAL COLLECTION.
